How does one shout on the Internet? Global warming and politics as usual in Puerto Rico

How do you shout in the internet?  Greenhouse gases during the last quarter century have significantly raised average temperatures over the northern hemisphere--so much that last year a huge chunk of the Arctic simply melted away during the summer period.  Yet all around me, people operate 'business as usual'.  While Germany is taking the most rational approach in drastically increasing the number of solar cells, the ones who should be taking the lead aren't even looking in that direction because they are either too ignorant and/or are blindly manipulated by business interests.    Here in Puerto Rico it is business as usual.  Since the government is the largest employer and it is now election time, the usual dynamics being seen is that of the subterfuge, the back-stab, and the coercive manipulation.   We seem to casually assume that, no matter what we do or say, things will remain as they are in the long run, an idea that could not be further away from the truth.  Nowhere do we see a political platform that drastically increases, by carrot or stick, the use of renewable sources: solar, wind, biofuels, and water energy sources.  "My rival is a fool who threw chairs...."  Despite all the claims and counter-claims--"one does not attack family members"--without significant measures to play our own small part, we will all end up sinking in the same boat.  Petty politics leads to petty bickering while the long term issues, which hover over us like a gigantic hammer, are being foolishly ignored.
