Very well done, Governor

When Anibal Acevedo Vila froze the illegal project Paseo Caribe, he did what he had to do: protect the best interests of the people of Puerto Rico before a small social sector who pretends to own the island.  We all are aware of the rampant corruption that occurred during the administration of Pedro Rossello (former governor of Puerto Rico during the 1990s), and how arbitrary its administration had been.   A young politician starting out in that party at the time would have sadly learned the false presumption that "to govern is to steal".   It is somewhat curious that the best reason for Puerto Rico not to become the 51st state in the US is ironically the very party that claims for this stance, the PNP: it organizational culture of rampant illegal and arbitrary procedures in the broadest sense of the word.   (Luis Fortuño is only one more example of this tendency).  The notion that the project is "legal", being widely divulged in a massive public relations campaign, is false--a conclusion reached by a committee of respected jurists, academics, and professionals that made up the "Tribunal del Pueblo".   It was time that we began to deal with the internal colonialism that exists within our borders.  We have to clean our 'nation', of the trash that has accumulated within her--for if we don't, we will all end up sinking.  The Northeastern Ecological Corridor and Paseo Caribe constitute good steps in this direction.  Well done, Governor. Well done.
