New web-page oriented towards the community of puertorican scientists
Daniel A. Colón-Ramos, a post-doctoral fellow at Stanford University, has energized Puerto Rico's science community by forming a research-oriented web-page: CienciaPR. The growing community of scientists who have joined the group, now ascending to 168 members, is a testament to the need for communication between members of a very disperse community found across many different parts of the globe. The page, designed principally towards providing governmental science-news, is part of a broader initiative began by CAPRI (Consejo para el Avance en Puerto Rico de la Investigación y la Innovación científica). The scientific community of other nations should take heed of the unique opportunities provided by the internet. Science is, after all, a distinctive cultural form of communication.
